2nd presidential debate notes

Notes on the Debate:
Impressive move with the handshake, a subtle not to his lack of respect, without calling out directly. Well played… let’s see how this goes…
1. Not agreeing with something does not make it a lie
2. it does not matter when a doctor or a patient decides to have a medical procedure; it’s not the government’s job to make that choice.
3. he is either making things up, taking credit for other people’s work, or generating fear.
4. All she had to do was mention people leaving his rally, and he snapped! (grabs popcorn)
5. She then stares at him like a mom, knowing the teen is lying, but lets them finish their story anyway.
6. Their faces are hilarious. Watch while the other speaks, and tell me what you think they are saying to themselves. Not just that they smile, when? After the other said what?
7. he is asked a policy question and delivers anecdotal hearsay.
He is immediately fact-checked and shifts to justify sources, not statements.
8. He says his economy lowered gas prices, but Biden raised them on purpose, directly? How? (Presidents do not affect gas prices; oil companies do.)
9. He uses every chance to brag and boast or insult without ever actually addressing the question asked of him. (I figured he would stumble across it by accident at least once- that takes attention no matter how cool he looks- try not talking about the thing your SO asks next time you get home and see how long you get away with it… that’s takes EFFORT!)
10. She starts using every chance to address the public through the camera after he snaps while discussing her policy ideas, but not her policy plans. Considering her opponent has none, showing yours might of been more impressive.
11. she gives a way better “HA! Bullshit!’ face’ than Biden did at his debate. (it didn’t look well on camera, but that was
e face of a man that wants to say- wtf!?- out loud but knows that kids might be watching.) She, at least, can both convey emotions and display self control…. which is more than he can say
12. He can’t answer the question. STILL? (STATES DO NOT HAVE RIGHTS, PEOPLE DO!)
13. She wanted to list munitions to Ukraine but not Israel, which is interesting considering Republicans signed some… hmmm.
14.*is anyone going to ask about the US’s consistent Veto on human rights violations and privileges?*
15. His “quiet please” is a jab at her “I’m speaking,” and it’s not getting under her skin; he is just responding to her facial expressions. (She has less than Biden, but all of them are more obvious. She doesn’t conceal how she feels, just shows some control and responds appropriately.)
16. Smart to clarify her own truths against his lies. Pretty well articulated, but she is speaking to the whole country. (feels vague, but there are a lot of steps to fix a problem built into the foundations of the country without intentionally picking a fight for no reason.)
17. The Afghan Deal will become known as one of the worst deals in history, which Trump has often glossed over. Getting a chance to explain that on air might sway some voters… hopefully.
18. They never cut his mic off, but they never cut hers either; she still went over -although not as often… or as long… or being hateful.
19. Waiting until after his snapping to answer his racist remarks was a nice touch. I liked how he sounded like every racist grandparent once they realize no one wants to hear their hateful, fear-mongering, and xenophobic rhetoric. ( “I don’t care!”, “I’m not bothered!”)
20. He continues not answering the question and blames Biden for the economy he left them.
21. Closing comments from Harris were uplifting, albeit lacking specifics; from Trump was just a rambling series of Joe Rogan Quality Conspiracy theories.
22. The Walz audio cut out while talking almost made it sound like he was cussing Trump out, lol
23. Diet Alex Jones had to pitch all the campaign slogans his boss forgot while ranting to his fear-driven base.

Nothing of substance was said by either side; she was at least articulate and aware of her surroundings; he was easily distracted and happy hearing himself talk over speaking any sense.
I am upset the allowed either candidate to talk over their allotted time at all.
Why can you cut off a child fighting against the fear of public speaking and not a couple of grown adults?
Cut off their mics!

Thankfully voting for a third party in my community would at least cancel out a Trump vote, but I would feel better for hearing from Harris about how to enshrine and protect our democracy from project 2025 simply becoming project 2029 or whenever. (Among a million other things)
Simply put; can we once and for all have the abortion we have ALL been asking:
Of church from State?

PLEASE!?
